Un webinaire de Sciences Po Grenoble sur les frontières du Moyen-Orient mercredi 26 mai 2021
A webinar on the borders issue in the Middle East at Sciences Po Grenoble, Thursday, May 26, 2021
Webinar#11 – « Borders in globalisation: the case study of the Middle East »

Description:
This webinar aims to discuss the complex border issue in the Middle East. Such an issue is the legacy of the treaties which followed the First World War, but also of the unresolved conflicts which have permanently shaken the region since the beginning of the Cold War. Today, the Middle East therefore is a very interesting area for border studies, which notably challenges the sovereignty of States and the traditional concepts. More especially, during this webinar, Lebanese borders, the southern Arab borders of Turkey and the border between Turkey and Iran will be addressed by the panelists.
Speakers:
Daniel MEIER, associate-researcher at PACTE-CNRS Grenoble and lecturer at Sciences Po Grenoble
Johanna OLLIER, PhD candidate at Grenoble Alpes University
Moderator: Jean MARCOU, professor at Sciences Po Grenoble, associate researcher at the French Institute of Anatolian Studies (IFEA) Istanbul – Turkey
